54% I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to a new resource that we have at the school it's called sora it is a collection of audiobooks available download the app calm Sora att.com when you website theater. but if you don't see your school in this location to buy and put in the zip code for Asbury High School that is in my area so I'm just going to say how do you want to login once that comes up because I have logged in I want to login with Google and I am going to check Google account now that you have all my Google accounts and it's going to take a minute to authenticate but it's going to come to the homepage of South Pasadena High School you can see you have your own personal home down at the bottom you have Explorer which is usually the default shelf and me me happens to your shelf will show you what you have checked out what you have on hold so you're waiting to check out and put into a list what you can create your own lips home is just gives you a snapshot of you and I'm not showing you now because there's nothing to show I don't have anything checked out but if you go to home it'll just give you a snapshot what you have checked out so you can easily access those some of the new and exciting books will be on the search for many different ways. you can see more subjects history whatever you might be looking so I'm just going to select a couple of these better on the homepage mainly because of convenience is there headsets on them those are audiobooks those that don't are going to be books so I'm going to show you how to do on one of us is lying mystery book the first in the series it's going to tell you what the top it isn't probably want to take a look at what it's about here I'll also give you similar here you can read a sample if you choose to or you can go to borrow I'm just going to take a look at reading a sample because that's an idea of what it looks like can you give me the homepage this little circle up here adjust your format so if you want it a single page of a time like you would with any of your other physical books Search the book for certain captions on certain person you can search Within can also bookmark and when you and it'll come right back to that as well so at here because you can also look at specific chapters and we're going to take a look at just part one because this is just a sample so it doesn't have the entire book in there but it's going to give you part 1 here if you use your arrow keys and you can see how it is set up once again you can set it up to where it is comfortable to you so it's easier to obviously on a computer versus a phone that is an option to you if you want to have it on both you can have it on both you can log into either or so that's what an ebook looks like to go back to explore and take a look at what so some of you will be in some of your classes with audio books as I said before you always have the headset or the earbuds hear that it's an audiobook it'll give you the overview of the book it will also give you the duration or how long the book is the nice part about this is that I have an idea going in how long it is weather is going to be 20 hours or four hours or two hours whatever that can change based on the speed that you listen to the book because I want to show how the settings are different in how you can set your setting to listen to audiobooks at a faster rate then a lot of people from what I'm reading pump it up to two times the sea and you can adjust the speed up here with this little clock by just clicking on it and it starts at average speed and it goes up in increments up to 2 really pretty fast so if you are in reading a really difficult and I would probably read it at a slower speed so that is an option there it's going to keep track based on whatever speed you have it on it will adjust the time that you have left once again bookmarket if you choose to make notes in there if you choose to and too you can skip to a certain chapter and it will and it'll give you whatever chapter you want to be on so all ebooks and audio books on them so I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to show you where you can find that information this is what I mention the Shelf before, shelf down at the bottom I didn't cuz I just need the sample of it but I obviously have this one checked out so if I click on like an open audiobook from here by Tuesday that I can also click on options and I-10 it shows when it's too so it's due in 13 days I can renew it from here as long as someone is not waiting for it if there is another person in line person first mine again so by putting it on hold again if you finish early you can return it early so you can add this to the list resources that you have read and that sort of thing so I'm going to go ahead because I am not going to be listening to this right now and you'll see that it comes right off my list so I have nothing here I can view my history and you can see I've been playing around with this so some of the books that I've pulled up and taking a look at those are all going to be here create a list browsing or probably going to be the most useful tabs if you have place books on hold to give you an expected time frame so if you are third in line at may say that you can expect to have it downloaded to your account in 5 weeks and it will set if you set it up. Doubt so at any time you can go back an app that more books and check them out if once again you can search up some of these, subscription that we have really what you're looking for but there might be some in here that are of interest to you I did go through and customize our collection based on some of the conditions at some of the more popular but I'm always looking for suggestions as to others that we can add to the collection so feel free to contact me to order it if you have any troubles or concerns please feel free to contact me at my email address as well person at fusd.net otherwise I hope you're enjoying your distance learning I know it's difficult but remember that I'm here if you need any help with anything I am here for your research and you're reading me so have a wonderful day and hope to see you all soon
