9/11 Oral History Interview
YOU WILL SCAN/UPLOAD A CLEAR IMAGE OF YOUR INTERVIEW NOTES/SIGNATURE TO THIS ASSIGNMENT
History is more than a collection of dates in a textbook, it is a compilation of individual human experiences. Your task is to conduct a brief oral history interview with an older family member, neighbor, or mentor who remembers September 11, 2001.
Pt. 1: Ask the following questions and take notes on their answers/responses.
Where were you when you first heard about the attacks, and what were you doing at that exact moment?
How did you receive news throughout that day, and what was the general atmosphere like around you (at school, work, or home)?
How did daily life or society feel different in the weeks immediately following 9/11?
Looking back, what is the most important lesson or memory you think people of my generation should understand about that day?
Pt II: You must have them write their name on your paper as the interviewee, their relationship to you and their signature in order to receive credit on this assignment.
