SPUSD Students Earn California All-State Honor Band Acclaim

Congratulations to SPHS students, Trisha Chakroborty, Evi Lopez Campbell, and Joaquin Zikman-Fung who made the 2023 California All-State Honor Band. Chakroborty and Zikman-Fung both play the clarinet and were named to the Wind Symphony and Campbell plays the French horn and was named to the Symphonic Band. Each of these musicians was also selected to be part of the Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association’s All Southern California Honor Band.

Eighth grader Wilson Jaroch plays the French horn and was named to the Junior High Concert Band. Jaroch and Chakroborty performed during President’s Day weekend at the California All-State Music Educators Conference (CASMEC) Conference in Fresno, Calif.

The All-State Honor Band brings together the finest student musicians from the state of California to perform under the direction of nationally and internationally known band directors. We are so proud of the SPUSD students who earned a spot in one of the All-State ensembles!
