Chinese 3/4 H class (Period 2)
Course Description
This course is designed for the students with fundamental knowledge of Chinese acquired in Chinese 1/2 in the last school year. The textbook features the language to be learned. The language is structured, accumulative and reinforced. The textbook includes the following subsections: new word with pictures, new word list, building blocks, key structures, talking to the teacher, quick responses, language tasks, interpersonal communication, presentational communication, Interpretive communication, additional language and culture, and window into the Chinese-Speaking world. The class is conducted in a conversation-oriented setting. Students will practice speaking Chinese through discussions and exchanging information in an informal Chinese-speaking environment. Students will further develop skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing, through projects, and activities as well as other learning methods such as songs, role play, dialogues, group discussions, telling stories, dramas, CD, DVD, films, etc. And since this is an honor class, supplementary books and materials will be used as well.
