Chinese 5/6 R (Period 1)

 Goals for each unit:

1. Students learns in this lesson to talk about their school timetable, subject preference, preparation for exams and exam results.

2. Students in this lesson to introduce their school and to hold conversations commonly used on classroom and school grounds.

3. This lesson aims to help students communicate on topics related to transport. Students will be able to talk about modes of transport, distances, travel times, as well as give directions.

4. This lesson enables students to talk or write about their life outside school, such as watching TV, going to the movies, music concerts or sporting matches. They can also express their opinions and show their preferences for various leisure activities.

5. This lesson revises and reinforces the language learned in the previous lessons using a series of letters.

6. This lesson enables students to compare and comment on the physical differences of individuals. Students are also able to introduce themselves in a more advanced way, by including details on their physical appearance, various interests and personalities.

7. This lesson teaches students to talk about travel plans, discuss travel preparations and read travel itineraries.

8. This lesson teaches students to communicate on the topics of illness, including describing symptoms, taking leave from school, following medical instructions, describing recovery progress and showing concern for others.

9. This lesson teaches students how to communicate about birthday celebrations. This includes giving and replying to invitations, buying and receiving gifts and attending parties. This lesson also includes topics such as Chinese festival foods.
