Does the 116th Congress Represent You?

This connects with #5 from the Legislative Process Doc. You will respond to TWO of the following questions AFTER taking part in our ZOOM meeting Wed at 1:30:

1. Do barriers exist that keep people from serving as representatives in government, and if so, do barriers differ for different demographic groups of political parties, races, ages, backgrounds, or regions/states?

2. How do policy discussions and/or agendas change with greater diversity among members of a group?

3. The United States lags behind many other countries in the level of women’s representation (and the representation of all minority groups) in federal office. Why do you think other countries fare better in electing women and minority groups to political office?

4. Can a person be a “good” representative even if they do not share the same identity of their constituents? Why or why not?
