1. Study the Family Tree found at the back of the Beowulf. NOTE: Beo is not the same person as Beowulf. You will need to recognize these names when you read this story in class and/or out of class. Period 5: Be sure to have your 10 pics (one for each literary era in your Google Drive. Period 6: We will work on getting the 10 pics next class. You will also be visited by a counselor and by administrators next class to talk about important senior-year "stuff." You don't want to miss this class--or any class for that matter. :)

1. You should have Oedipus read by next Thursday. It is suggested that you read a synopsis of the plot first, then begin reading it online. Remember, you're reading it in translation, so the syntax will be a bit unusual. We will be writing an essay on it Monday, Aug. 29.
