Hello! Welcome to the Chinese Language and Culture class.

My name is Mrs. Emily Chiang. I have been teaching the Chinese language and culture class at SPHS for about 16 years. I am very pleased to be a TIGER. Many thanks to school administrators, faculty, parents, students and SPCC (South Pasadena Chinese Club) for their continued help and support in helping the Chinese language class expand from three classes to eight classes.

A variety of teaching strategies, such as the Comprehensible Input, the Low Affective Filter, the Language Experience Approach, games, songs, role play, drama, cooperative learning groups, authentic materials, and technology etc. will be utilized to facilitate learning this language and culture.
