PLEASE READ COMPLETELY!!!

First, please turn in both worksheets that were due today. It's been like over a week, totally!

Today, we are going to try something new. I recently found that desmos allows teachers and students to interact via the student.desmos.com platform. I am going to list a few activities for you to complete on student.desmos.com

I will be grading these individually, so every student needs to complete each project. If you don't login with a desmos account, enter the code and press continue without signing in on the next page. Please enter your first and last name to receive credit for each project. When you answer the last question of a project, there isn't really anything to press. Just close the tab and re-navigate to student.desmos.com . When prompted to answer a question with words, please answer appropriately as your writings may be shared with other students during the project....

My goal with this project is to see how this platform works. I am hoping to create an assessment platform from this service. Maybe part of the final exam will be a short project like one of these, that I have created.... hmm

Please grab a Chromebook and navigate your browser to student.desmos.com
When prompted, enter this code to start the first project.
3B92R
This should start the activity: Limits and Continuity

Close the tab and re-navigate to student.desmos.com
When prompted, enter this code to start the second project.
J6ANV
This should start the activity: Sketchy Derivatives

Close the tab and re-navigate to student.desmos.com
When prompted, enter this code to start the third project.
HC2FN
This should start the activity: Derivative Match

Close the tab and re-navigate to student.desmos.com
When prompted, enter this code to start the third project.
C8CBE
This should start the activity: Intermediate Value Theorem

If you think these answers are wrong, some of them want the x-value where the top of the box and curve intersect. To find this, you do C=f(x) and solve for x. Check that the x-value fits in the interval

Chapter 3 Project Supplement:
This short essay is meant to fill the gap in student's project grade due to the project being done in one class period. This is open to all students and is not dependent on the project grade.

Please find an article, thesis, dissertation, peer reviewed journal entry, news story, etc about optimization being used in the real world. Please write a 500+ word essay about this article. Please include your opinions about the optimization process being used in the real world setting. You may not understand the math behind the process, but how does the process improve operations, profit, environmental impacts, etc?

When I looked for an article, I thought about what I liked. I like mining so I searched, "Mining Optimization" and this dissertation came up about Open Pit Mining and Optimization:
You can do something similar to find a source.

Test Corrections are due to the teacher at the end of the period on Thursday. Please turn them in on time.

Test Corrections

For #20 and #21, write true statements that relate Continuity and Limits. Use a Kiku paper and attach it on top of your completed test corrections. These missed points will be added to your test score.

When you turn in Test Corrections at the end of the class period on Thursday, you will staple Kiku on top of Corrections on top of the Exam.

I will not give out answers or the answer key to you. Among and from everyone in the class, all answers and explanations can be found.

These test corrections, without kiku, will go into the gradebook as a small quiz
