Attention class!

 

13 (!!) of you did not turn in a lab journal before break. It will already be almost impossible for me to get all of those graded before grades are due Tuesday. 

 

However, if you get me your journal (or any other make-up work) by 4 pm Monday April 11, I will do my best to get it all graded and entered before the deadline. 

 

Please note that I have not yet entered those notebooks and career journals yet. They will be entered tomorrow morning.

Bring in one label (or one for you and one to share) to use in our nutritional analysis. Make sure you can read the nutrition facts on the label!

Finish lab write up for 2.2.1 and include conclusion questions at the end

Study for your (non-multiple choice!) quiz on section 2.1

Finish part one of 2.2.1. Bring in a food item to test.

Finish graphs (use 3 colors for each line graph), analysis, and conclusion questions for 2.1.1 lab.

Prep for lab- finish venn diagram from 2.1.1. and READ through ALL lab instructions

In the Case History for Anna Garcia (2.1.1 in case you forgot to pick it up)- read and highlight pertinent information. ALSO, read (in lesson 2.1.1) the paragraphs for Patient A and Patient B (we will be looking at samples from them next time). On the back of your Anna Garcia history pages, write down any important information from those two cases also. 

Finish 2.1.3 Concept Map. INCLUDE both normal glucose management AND type 1 and type 2 diabetes on your map.

Finish Case Report (1.3.3) and 

Choose two careers from the three listed below to research and add to your Career Journal:

-Medical Examiner

-Toxicologist

-Morgue Assistant

Answer conclusion questions for 1.3.2 in your lab journal.

Then, do the online virtual autopsy #3 from the link in the teachers notes for 1.3

(Go to modules, scroll down to the BOTTOM of 1.3, you should see teacher's notes. When you open it, it's the link that says '3' at the end)

Don't forget- 1.3.1 conclusion questions also go in your lab journal (1.3.1 conclusion)

 

1.3.1 part one- you don't have to glue it down yet, but have some idea where each card goes on the sheet.

Look at the rubric online, or use your previous entries as a guide.

Double check the rubrics (attached below) to make sure you will get full credit on your 1.1.5 lab and 1.2.1 activity

Finish the lab analysis from 1.1.6. PLEASE read the instructions/steps carefully, as that explains what you should be writing about. See especially steps 9, 10, 12, 17, and 20-23. Also, answer the 4 conclusion questions on the back of the procedure page.

1. Send your concept map to me ([email protected]) and also your sketch (if you haven't already)

2. Finish all three career journals. Print them out, send them to me, and put them in your career journal. 

 

Be sure to bring your materials to class! (Especially your composition notebook, 3-ring binder, and spiral notebook). Also, bring signed syllabus and safety contract!
