Remember the following Graphing Tips:

Here is a summary of the 6 Tips for Graphing:

  • Choose values for the two axes that make the data from the tables fill most of the paper, vertically and horizontally.
  • Title your graph with a "Descriptive Title" that helps the reader to have an idea what event was being measured.
  • Label both axes (vertical and horizontal) with correct units and name of units.
  • Ensure all of your data points are still visible after you draw the connecting line.
  • The connecting line does not necessarily have to go through each data point. Draw the best smooth curve through the data points that "averages" the data.
  • Make a "Legend" that explains what the two colors of data points represent.  One color is your data and the other color is the rest of the class data.
