In your Gmail you will find an invitation to a Google Doc. titled "Five Short Stories 3-1-16."  Click on each of the links in this document and read the short story at each link.  Be clicking on the arrow above the story, you can listen to it while you read it.  Tomorrow, we will have a Socratic Seminar on each of these short stories.  So come prepared.  You may take notes on each short story and bring those notes with you!  Enjoy your reading.

1.  You are to finish creating ALL of your Quizlet flashcards for Unit 1 of your Vocabulary Workshop.  You will be studying these flashcards to prepare for your FINAL EXAM for Semester 1, which is coming a few weeks after our Winter Break. 
2.  Go online and look at examples of Prezi presentations.  Don't be intimidated because YOURS will be awesome, too!  :))))))))

1.  Finish your questionnaire Google form.  It should have 5 questions and be shared with the person who has to answer the 5 questions.  Also, it should be saved in your "website stuff" folder in your Google Drive. 
2.  Finish your Google Slides Presentation for tomorrow. 
 
NOTE:  The last 20 minutes of class are going to be our Great Shake-Out (earthquake drill).  So... bring a hat and MAYBE an umbrella.

1.  ELD1 is to read "Superstitions:  The Truth Uncovered" (p. 18).  You do NOT have to answer any questions after reading this.  ELD2 has already done their required reading!  :))))   ELD1 MUST READ YOUR ASSIGNED READING BECAUSE YOU WILL BE COMPLETING WORKSHEETS ABOUT THIS READING. 
 
2.  Finish your WEVideo project BEFORE you come to class!!!   In class on Monday we will upload it directly from WEVideo to YouTube.  It's very easy to do!  Then from YouTube we will copy the code and paste that code onto your web page titled "My Video." 
 
 You are all doing an amazing job!!!!!!  Keep up the good work!!!!!

1.  ELD1 is to answer on paper Questions 1-3 immediately after reading "The Open Window" in your orange textbook. 
2.  ELD2 is to answer  on paper Questions 1-3 immediately after reading "The Fashion Show" in your blue textbook. 
3.  Finish blending the sharp lined edges of all of the images in your banner (header) for your website.  When done, save the image as a .png file into the SHARED Google folder.
 
NOTE:  We are going to be making a video soon and posting it on our website!  That should be fun!  Perhaps we should video ourselves speaking ENGLISH!!!  :)))))))

1.  For ELD1 answer the Questions 1-3 at the end of "Building Bridges," and, using WebspirationPro, word web the next list of vocabulary words on page 52 from the story "The Open Window."  
2.  For ELD2 answer the Questions 1-3 at the end of "Thank You, M'am," and, using WebspirationPro, word web the next list of vocabulary words on page 52 from the story "The Necklace."  
3.  Also...... both ELD1 and ELD2 students should expect to tell a story about at least one of your 8 stories based on the pictures on your Photojournalism page.

1.  For ELD1 (Orange Book) word web the vocabulary words on p. 28.  We will continue reading the story "Building Bridges" tomorrow.
2.  For ELD2 (Blue Book) word web the vocabulary words on p. 28.  We will begin reading the story "Thank You, M'am" tomorrow.
2.  For both ELD1 and ELD2 think of a 2-5 minute-long story for each of the eight photos you inserted on your "Photojournalism" web page.  I will be calling on you to explain some of your stories--or you will be sharing them with another person in class.

1.  Now that you have finished your word webbing (based on the vocabulary words on p. 8), you are to read the story beginning on p. 11 in your textbook.  Pay close attention to how the vocabulary words are used.  Come to class with an understanding of the sequence of events (the plot) or your story as best your can understand it.  Those of you who presented today did a great job!  Others will be presenting tomorrow!

1.  Post your typed questions and answers at Turnitin.com.  (Be sure to BOLD your quesions!!!)
2.  Bring 10 pictures that you have taken with your camera about your personal interests.  We will use them when we begin making our websites (our e-portfolios).  You can have them saved on your cell phone, but next week we will need to send them to your email so that you can download them to to your Google Drive.
