Integrated Math I PLUS is the first course of an accelerated sequence for high school math that leads to AP Calculus. This course satisfies the new California Common Core Standards for Integrated Math 1 and the first half of Integrated Math 2, which builds and strengthens students’ conceptual knowledge of functions, linear functions, equations, inequalities, sequences, basic exponential functions, systems of linear equations, systems of linear inequalities, one variable descriptive statistics, correlation and residuals, analyzing categorical data, mathematical modeling, both coordinate and transformational geometries, characteristics of functions, polynomial operations, quadratic functions, quadratic equations and models, extending quadratic equations, geometric proofs, and similarity and right triangles. Students will develop their ability to think mathematically and develop their conceptual understanding of mathematics and procedural fluency in mathematics. Students in this course will learn to use mathematical models to understand real world events and situations, and use algebraic reasoning to manipulate these models for deeper learning as well as be able to justify and defend their thinking.
