You are completing this on your own for your resolution. You need a minimum of 4 different sources and you may not use Wikipedia or Procon.

Do some light research (read at least 2 articles and include the question before the court for your assigned case). Attach your notes and links to the 2 articles you read here. Be prepared to discuss your cases next class.

Depending on your number in class, here is your designated case:

Please take Cornell-style notes on Chapter 10, sections 1 and 2 on Foreign Policy. Scan and upload them here

Remember to submit your project here using the reflection sheet by April 13-17 (11:59 pm deadline). This is a submission window and any late project will be marked 10% off the earned grade each day–no exceptions

If you are working with a partner, please leave me a private comment with their name, and remember that every individual needs to complete the attached reflection. Double-check that the link to your audio/video is public (use an incognito or private window to confirm).

Make a copy of the Script Graphic Organizer for audio or the Storyboard Template slides for video (you may have already done this).

Submit digitally here BEFORE class so I can grade and return them. Your group will time you reading your script (audio) and reading your script and flipping through your images (video) to make sure you are within the 2-3 minute range (up to 15-30 seconds after the time is ok). You will be receiving feedback from your peers in order to make changes and record your final product.

Please complete your letter and submit it to me here on GC. Next class, we will make sure your letter is proofread and ready to send AND we will send them together. I've provided a sample letter for support on how to effectively communicate with your legislator and to ensure you include all of the required elements.

In case you forgot how to find legislation (or if you were absent), use the tutorial I attached. It's a few years old, but still works well! :)

Please make a copy and RENAME your doc to match your topic. 
For example, if you choose gun control, please name your doc "Gun Control Planning Guide" and complete your guide.

If you are working with a partner, you two should work on it together and only one partner should submit the guide and leave me a private comment naming the other partner.

Choose one of the examples on Slide 9 that you did NOT listen to in class. If you had a video in class, choose and audio piece.

Please watch the State of the Union Address on Thursday, 3/7 at 6 pm (it usually lasts a little over an hour). Write out 15 policy observations (what is Biden advocating for or what does he want to see change?) and at least 10 "other" observations*.  This can be done in bullet point form. Finally, have a discussion with someone in your house (parent, sibling over 14, aunt, grandparent, etc) about the State of the Union. Please write a summary of the conversation sharing who you talked with what and what you discussed. 

*Other observations can include: designated survivor, special guests, crowd reactions, official Republican response after the speech, etc.

Read the attached reading on 4 important SCOTUS cases and the precedents they set. Next class you'll have a reading quiz and you may use your handwritten notes(!!). I recommend using the chart below to organize your information.

You do not need to upload anything here.

Respond to the question with a 1-2 paragraph summary on what your thoughts were going into this deliberation and if/how they evolved through the process (please note, this does not mean that your mind was changed).

You need to include at least 2 pieces of evidence from the reading and elements from your group's discussion to support your thoughts.

Listen to "Ep 1: Framed" of the Constitutional podcast by the Washington Post. 

As you listen, take notes either in Cornell-style notes OR Sketch notes, you choose :)

Regardless of the format of your notes, you must include:
important ideas, people, dates, events, etc
your responses to what you hear (thoughts, feelings)
make at least 2 connections to what you've learned before in school, movies, books, class discussions, etc...
a 1-2 paragraph summary (5-10 sentences) about the main idea/elements 
Label or color code so it's easy to identify the parts and this info will be on your Unit 2 test.

If your reading isn't complete with highlights/annotations next class, you will not be able to participate and will receive a zero. I attached an extra copy below if you misplace yours.

Also, make sure to read at least ONE of the additional readings, and feel free to do additional light research.

Highlight and annotate the reading keeping in mind the deliberation question. I will check these in person next class and they need to be complete to participate in the deliberation. I've attached the reading in case you misplaced yours.

Also, make sure you use the Quizlet review, in addition to your Study Guide.

Read the attached reading and create the chart in your notes. 


For the last column, you will need to search online for examples within the last three years (note: they do not need to be American examples). Make sure with your current examples that you identify SPECIFIC events/dates for examples. You will need to explain the event and how it reflects "the game". You can take a photo or use "notes" on iOS to scan and upload your notes.

Use details from the audio story and the op-ed to support your ideas. Also, consider the posters we made for effective citizenship (knowledge, skills, attitudes and actions). Your response should be 1-2 paragraphs in length and needs to incorporate a quote from his op-ed to support your answer.

You will submit it in class. You can comment here with your favorite donut style to "Turn in" on GC.
