Our final exam for Semester 1 will be a Multiple Choice exam that covers Act 1 of Romeo and Juliet. The following list gives you several options to study for the final, including:
Use the Romeo and Juliet Act 1 Packet to review the various scenes.
Use the attached study guide questions to review Act 1. These questions are similar to the type of questions that will be on the final exam for Act 1.
Use the list of resources to review each scene. There are multiple ways that you can read/listen to / analyze/ watch each scene.
Click on "done" when you have finished studying for the final exam.

Romeo and Juliet packet-
Page 10- Finish final row for page 10. The quote for Mercutio, 1.4.27 is " If love be rough with you, be rough with love;Prick love for pricking, and you beat love down.”
Page 11- Answer all questions except 2.a (we'll try to do the drawing later). For the first question about Romeo's dreams, describe Romeo's dream of marrying Rosaline, then describe Romeo's dream he talks about at the end of 1.4.
When done with both pages, take a photo of each page and upload here for this assignment.

Write down 10 instances in Acts 1 and 2 in which you notice foreshadowing of tragedy. 
Foreshadowing- A literary device in which an author drops subtle hints about plot developments to come later in the story.

Using the green textbook, translate each of the 14 lines of the prologue on page 771 in the textbook into modern English.

In Tuesday's class, we will be composing an extended paragraph writing analysis, focused on a few of the main characters from the novel, The Poet X. You can prepare for the writing prompt by doing the following:
Review the Character Research Documents on the discussion board on www.turnitin.com
Review important scenes in the novel that focus on the main characters

Make sure your team's character research document is complete by Sunday night. Other students will be using your document to study for Tuesday's Character Writing Prompt.

Copy and paste your 8 first draft poems on your Google Document. Include title for each, make sure each poem is at least 20 lines in length. Submit to GC.
Next, submit your 8 first draft poems document to both Google Classroom and www.turnitin.com. Due on www.turnitin.com by Sunday night. Make sure you do not have your name on document.
Any private poems? Only include poems you wish to share anonymously on turnitin.com . Option for personal poems- if you are including private poems that you will not be sharing on www.turnitin.com , please have 3 people that you are comfortable reading your poems complete a peer review on the document for your 8 poems that you are submitting to Google Classroom. Have them highlight and comment in the suggestion mode in the upper right corner (blue drop down box titled “Editing.”)

For Wednesday's class, our first team will focus on the theme of "names" from The Poet X. After the team presents, our class will work on a writing activity that focuses on the origin of your name. For homework, please ask your family about your name origin. Were you named after someone? Do you have a nickname? Where does your last name come from? Is your name hard to pronounce? Andy details or stories about your name would be helpful for our activity on Wednesday.

Please have your team theme presentation done for Wednesday's class.

We'll be starting a team project on Monday for The Poet X. Please bring your copy of the novel to class.
