US History (Spring 2022)-Period 3 Assignments

This is our last assignment of the semester.  See attached assignment description.

Directions:  Use the information from chapter 20 along with your lesson notes to respond to the following questions.  Complete answers should be in PARAGRAPH format and include specific facts, names, or dates.  Some questions require you to complete additional research and cite sources in proper MLA format.

This is the class activity for today.  I have also included a link to the video we watched in class.

Using Google Slides or a medium of your choice, such as Canva, create a collage depicting a theme from the 1950s.  The main goal is to depict one particular aspect of life in America during this time period.  Your description/explanation should include specific facts or historical references that support the relevance and significance of your theme.

2. Find a minimum of 5 images that depict the theme (keep appropriate)
3. In 200-250 words describe the significance of the theme you selected
4.  You must cite at least two credible sources

You will be completing a comparison of daily life of typical Americans from the 1950s and today.

The assignment instructions as well as the reference documents are attached below.  This is a timed activity.  You have 15 minutes to complete and submit your response.

In 250-300 words describe how
advertising and the media influenced and shaped the American culture of the
1950s.







Your assignment must include at least two
examples of actual 1950s advertisements. 
Be sure to describe
how these ads
use the “beliefs” of the 1950s to promote their product. 







Also, be sure to include an explanation that addresses if
the ads you selected would be appropriate for use today.
