Submit here. If someone else from your scene is doing the submitting, just return this assignment with the note saying who is submitting. If you have multiple scenes, submit both here.

Turn in a practice recording
With the camera you will be using
In the location you will be filming, with the mics you will use. This is your chance to find out if there are problems
Costumes not needed
IF YOU ARE NOT RECORDING ON ZOOM or SIMILAR, (for example, personal monologues or in Little Theater), just turn in a zoom recording of the scene

Fill in the attached tech questionnaire so you will be ready to record.

Fill out your character's "Bones" for your showcase scene.

Do MOOT for your showcase scenes. 

Reminder you must do this by end-of-day today in order to be counted as present for attendance.

Attached you will find SHOWCASE CASTING D1 20-21. Find your name and your scene and your role. Some of you are in more than one piece and we are also waiting for some of the writers to complete their pieces. So this list might change - however, for today, find your name and complete the attached SHOWCASE WORKSHEET. This worksheet will be your attendance for the day.

I will be available in the morning for questions. 

FYI - More details to come, but this DRAMA ONE SHOWCASE will be our final project and will air as a stream for friends and families close to the end of the year.

Please take a minute to check aeries and confirm with your family which cohort you are in. It will matter which rehearsal group you can be in for the Showcase.

This is NOT where you hand in the monologue. This is where you do the worksheet and learn about the assignment.

Based off the character you created in your Empathy and BONES worksheets, write a scene or monologue. Must be a minimum of 90 seconds for a monologue (approx 1 page double-spaced) and 2 minutes for a scene (approx 1.5 pages double spaced). Of course, it can be longer than that if you'd like.

You may copy and paste phrases and sections you like from your own worksheets.

Create a backstory for the "empathy" character you created on Wednesday by filling in this BONES worksheet.

Complete this worksheet during Monday's Async time or as HW.
Due Wed by start of class.

Choose one of the negative words and one of the positive words that are NOT a representation of you. Create a character who is a student at SPHS with those characteristics. This is mostly an in-class activity due Wednesday - you may complete by end of day today.

A group of you will be directors, trying to cast The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams.
A group of you will be actors, auditioning to be in the Glass Menagerie.

ACTORS - Prepare to audition. You will hand-in (scanned or digitally) the script with MOOT. You may hold your script (printed if you can) for the audition

Record yourself as Moldoff and Bjorn from this animated project, Thunderbeards. There are 4 selections for each character - YOU ONLY NEED TO CHOOSE ONE PER CHARACTER. That means you are submitting TWO recordings only.
At the beginning of the recording state your name then begin. This can be done during Asynchronous or as HW.

DON'T FORGET GLASS MENAGERIE for Thursday as well. Prepare as either Actor or Director.

TWO PARTS
PART ONE: SYNCHRONOUS Choose to play the doctor or Kevin Hart. I will explain during class before you audition.
If you are in Groups 1-7 you will audition from 8:50-9:05
If you are in Groups 8-15, you will audition from 9:05-9:20
PART TWO: ASYNCHRONOUS Watch last night's super bowl commercials (on youtube). Find a part you think you could play in your "type". Attach the link here.

Start during asynchronous - due by beginning of class Thursday.

On the following form, please write down two names of people you would cast to be the Foreman.

By beginning of class Tuesday, submit a "self-tape" video of the attached co-star television role (just 3-4 sentences). It's only two lines but it MUST BE MEMORIZED.

"FOREMAN: this construction foreman is trying to remove a large tree that someone has decided to live in."

Also attached are some recommendations for how to record at home. It is quite detailed, but the big takeway is this:
We need to see you and we need to hear you. Frame the camera waist up. Get someone to read the other lines.

Please listen to the voice memo. This is your assignment. Watch the "breathing" video then complete the "Breathing Reflection" worksheet. This is due by the end of the class period or will be late. REMEMBER: The worksheet must be turned in by 4PM to be counted as present for attendance.
