9th/10th Literature/Composition - SAI (Period 1: ) Assignments

STUDY for the Final Exam. Be sure to bring to class: (1) Compound Sentences Guide Sheet, (2) Complex Sentences Guide Sheet, and (3) spiral notebook of class notes, (4) any materials you need for the Debate, and (56) your book THE TURN OF THE SCREW. You will return your own books to the textbook windows, as requested by the Library. You are all going to do a WONDERFUL job. Thank you for being such a great class!! Happy Summer!

Essay #3: FINAL VERSION of our Persuasive essay is due this Friday, 5/17/2019, by the end of the school day. I will print all essays from our shared docs at 3:00 pm. Between now and then, make sure you have your Introduction, BP1, BP2, and Conclusion paragraphs completed. Also, use the "checklist" to check that everything is in the essay and that the essay is in the correct format. Good working!!

Essay #3: Introduction Paragraph, BP1, and BP2 should be finished by Monday, 5/13/2019. Final Version is due at the beginning of class on Friday, 5/17/2019. Have a nice weekend!

Essay #3 - Were the Ghosts Real?: Make sure you have FINISHED your introduction and BP1 by the start of class on Tuesday. We will be going on to BP2 and the conclusion. Have a great weekend.

Complete The Turn of the Screw, Q&A Packet for Chapters 7 & 8. Work carefully and give detailed answers. You want to get all the points possible!

(1) STUDY for Verb Parallelism quiz; and (2) do The Turn of the Screw, Q&A Packet for Chapter 2, pp.15-24.

Do The Turn of the Screw Q&A Packet for the Introduction and Chapter 1 (pp.1-15). For a good grade: (1) do all of the packets; (2) reread the book to find the answers, (3) give detailed answers (not just one or two words), and (4) complete and turn in your homework on time.

Essay #2: FINAL VERSION due on Wednesday, 3/20/2019, at the BEGINNING of the period. Let me know before class if you want me to print it for you. Also, turn in: the 5-paragraph basic outline and the essay checklist. What I've read, looks really good. Thank you for your hard work!!

For Thursday, 3/14: complete Essay #2 - Conclusion paragraph. Essay TIMELINE: Thursday, 3/14 - in class catch-up and corrections day; FINAL VERSION due Wednesday 3/20/2019 - by the beginning of the Period. Only on-time Essays will be given full credit. See me in advance if you would like to print your essay in my room. (I have attached the outline checklists if you lost yours.)

PREPARE for your Literature Presentations. Remember: you cannot read from the screen or read from your packet and still get a good grade. Practice what you will say using your packet only as a quick reference. You all will be GREAT! Have a wonderful weekend.
