Write an analysis of your stream data for each of your chosen parameters.

 

Use the google spread sheets from the Arroyo Stream Data and create two graphs:

*If your graph has both data and rankings, include both.

 

You should print a page for each parameter that includes the following:

• Name of Person Writing this section.
• Explanation of the purpose of testing this parameter
• Overall results (Refer to  the average rankings and data on your graphs)
• Interpretation of the results (What the results mean--excellent, good, fair, poor water rankings and descriptions of harms caused or not caused)
• Comparison to EPA limits, if any
• Assessment of precision (Very, Somewhat, Little, None) Also explain your reasoning using numbers from the data.  Be sure to reference your two graphs.
• Assessment of accuracy (Very, Somewhat, Little, None) Describe the sources of error or, if you don’t think you have a source of error, describe possible sources of error that you avoided. 
• Graph of class data and rankings (Label Axis with units and include a legend if necessary)
• Extra Credit:Graph of "All Class" data and rankings (Label Axis with units and include a legend if necessary)

Read Chapter 14

1.  Put your data on to the class spreadsheet (if you didn't already put the data in with your phone while at the Arroyo.
2. Write ONE sentence about each test you chose at the beginning of this project.
3. In that sentence give the actual data and briefly explain what it tells about the stream quality (example: Our group found the ammonia concentration was 20 ppm and it shows the water quality is poor.)

Complete research on your water quality parameters (tests) that you selected in class.  The research on each parameter should be on it own page.   Your explanations do not have to take up the entire page.  Be concise with supporting details. You are to answer the following questions:

1.       What is the test designed to assess?
2.       Why is this information important to humans? (be specific about the harms caused)
3.       Why is this information important to the ecosystem? (be specific about the harms caused)
4.       What are the desired quantitative or qualitative limits or ranges (including units)?
5.       How can conditions outside of the desired range be remediated (improved or adapted to)?
