We will be developing Socratic Seminar questions about issues, concerns, topics raised in the documentary- your questions should be meaningful to you and open ended. Answer your own questions as well. We will have the Socratic Seminar after we finish the documentary and the questions will be submitted as part of the grade. Find one credible article about Fascism and dictatorship around the world and one for these trends occurring in America- print both, read and annotate them. Develop 3-5 open ended, meaningful questions to ask in Socratic Seminar - answer your own questions as well- questions should come from the documentary, the ABCs of Book Banning, the Fascism video, the articles you find on that and or the article entitled, "The School Issues We Are Battling Over Aren't The Ones That Matter"- questions and annotated articles will be submitted after the conversation- they should be annotated

Night- read chapter 1- look at ch. 1 questions in the packet- you don't need to answer them- I might pull from them for the reading quiz - be prepared to do something with the reading in class go to the words in context page for ch. 1- write a definition in your own words for any word you know and look up unknown words and write a definition that makes sense to you
